The Continuing Performance Refresh Program is a proactive initiative designed exclusively for our research partners engaged in longitudinal studies.
Here are the details of the the policy:
BACtrack is offering complimentary device replacement for any BACtrack Skyn device that has been in continuous active use (with active subscription payments) by a research group for 6 months.
We are implementing this policy to ensure that every participant in your study is equipped with hardware that looks, feels, and performs like new. This will optimize electronic health, sensor pad membrane cleanliness, cosmetic exterior, and sensor freshness.
We also want to be clear that current Skyns in the field working appropriately are fine, and this is not an indication of concern. In terms of data integrity:
- Extensive internal testing and external field use have demonstrated that the BACtrack Skyn can maintain high-fidelity data accuracy and robust performance well beyond the 6-month mark.
- Many of our partners have successfully utilized devices for periods significantly longer than this without compromise to their data integrity. Data collected from devices used longer than 6 months remains valid and reliable.
We recognize that wearables are subject to the rigors of daily life which include sweat, movement, physical impact, and charging cycles. While the technology remains accurate, the physical ecosystem of the device and the extremes of use ( such as skin exposure, transdermal chemical exchange, battery use, moisture around the casing, wristband) endures wear. By refreshing the hardware every 6 months, we minimize variables related to physical wear and tear, ensuring that all study data from day one and beyond represents the absolute Gold Standard of transdermal monitoring.

- Once received, our support team will initiate the order for the requested replacements. We will process these orders as quickly as we can. Please plan for a two-week lead time for requests.
- Once your fresh devices are received, please return your current devices within 30 days using the shipping label that will be provided to you.
